We saw Apolo Ohno!!!

This was my Christmas present and it was the best present I ever received. The weekend before Christmas we went to St. Louis to see the National championships for speedskating. Only Brad and Maddie know this about me...and maybe my mom... but I am a HUGE fan of Apolo Ohno and I've wanted to see him skate for awhile now. We left the day after the huge ice storm and made it just in time to see him warming up. Brad loved watching it so much that he's now gung ho on going to the olympic trials in Michigan next year! I won't argue with that!;)I was hoping to get Maddie's pic taken with some skaters, but I was too shy to ask.:( There were plenty of opportunities since we stayed at the same hotel as the skaters and at the ice rink we were always bumping into them. Brad was an awesome husband and took lots of video of Apolo and tried to get some good pictures but it's hard cause they skate so fast! I didn't get to meet Apolo but I had fun nonetheless. The pics are of Apolo before and during the 500M race, which was the only distance we saw. The skaters were all lining up for the final and Apolo came in third. That was after 2 falls and an almost DQ. It was a pretty crazy race. Maddie held out as long as she could, but she eventually gave in and took a nap.:)

Edited to add that Apolo won the championship for the 10th time. He's unstoppable.
