I hate Walgreens!

I just found out on Tuesday that Walgreens is cutting overtime for their midnite assistants in the Chicagoland area. We went to a meeting where we were given options. One was go back to days. Another one was to work 7 in a row but start on a Saturday nite and lose 20 hours of overtime per paycheck. Another one was to work 8 on and 6 off, but start on a Saturday nite and end on a Sunday morning so you never get a Saturday nite off. Another option was to work 10....yes 10....in a row and get 4 days off. Of course, all these options still required us to work 10 hours, except the 10 in a row. They knocked that one down to 8. Oh goody. Well, our DM said there was another offer that he got last minute that said we could do 7 in a row and work 11 hours straight so we could at least get 7 hours of overtime. I did the math and I would make the same money, but it's kinda like I'm working an extra day for free for them. I'm confused cause I thought the whole thing was about taking all the overtime away, but maybe they are throwing us a bone or something. Hopefully, they will approve that and the Sunday nite start day we have requested so we don't totally lose our weekends. In the end, I guess I'm happy I still have my job and that I only work half the year. It's an awesome schedule if you can handle midnites. Maybe I should change the title of this post to I'm not super duper happy with Walgreens at the moment but I guess I'll live....
